6 Steps to Learn Standard Operation of Full Electric Four-way Forklift

Four-way forklift can travel both longitudinally and laterally. It is ideal for transporting long pipes, long pallets and profile goods, without frequent turning and reversing like ordinary forklifts. Its tires can change direction horizontally and vertically, which makes the operation relatively complicated. Full electric four-way forklift operation explanation helps operators work safely with this equipment.

Pre-operation inspection. Walk around the forklift before boarding. Check tires for damage and forks for deformation or cracks. Check battery level, inspect hydraulic oil pipes for leakage, and test warning lights, horn and emergency stop button. Do not start the machine if any fault is found.

Boarding and start-up. Make sure there are no people or obstacles around. Get into the driver seat, close the safety guardrail and fasten the seat belt. Turn on the key or start switch, wait for system self-check after power on, and check whether there are fault codes on the dashboard.

Goods loading and unloading operation. Adjust the fork spacing, align the fork with pallet openings and move forward slowly until forks fully insert under the pallet. Lift the forks to a proper height off the ground and keep stable during lifting to prevent goods from sliding.

Switch driving direction, which is the core operation of four-way forklift. Switch travel mode only after the vehicle completely stops. Lateral travel switching is forbidden while moving. After switching, test run at low speed to get familiar with steering feel and control speed when transporting long materials.

4-Way Forklift Operation

On-site travelling operation. Keep low speed when driving in the warehouse. Sound the horn in advance at corners and aisle crossings. Keep enough safety distance from racks when transporting long goods laterally. Avoid rapid acceleration and sudden braking. Travel forward as much as possible when going uphill or downhill instead of lateral climbing.

Shutdown after operation. After handling work, drive the forklift to the designated parking area and lower forks completely to the ground. Turn off the control system, pull down the emergency stop button and cut off power. Clean debris on the vehicle body and forks, and finish daily operation records.

Mastering these 6 operation steps of full electric four-way forklift equipment enables operators to know the operation points and surrounding risks during goods handling. You can ask us for demo videos or other related content if needed.
