Stand-on Double Pallet Stacker: 3 Anti-freeze Tips for Low-temperature Use
Cold storage warehouses are widely used all year round. Many warehouse operators ask the same question:Does low temperature affect electric stacker operation? The answer is definitely yes. Extremely cold environments will negatively impact forklift performance, including battery durability, hydraulic response and overall power output.
Without proper winter maintenance, electric stackers will consume more power, age faster, and face frequent malfunctions. Below are three practical anti-freezing maintenance tips to reduce equipment loss for warehouse handling equipment.

1. Targeted Battery Protection
Both lithium batteries and lead-acid batteries are highly sensitive to temperature drops. Low ambient temperature reduces battery activity, weakens discharge efficiency and shortens working hours. Long-term cold operation will permanently accelerate cell aging.
Move the stacker to a normal-temperature area and preheat for 10 to 15 minutes before official operation. Never start the machine directly in sub-zero environments. Always charge batteries indoors at stable room temperature; do not charge inside cold warehouses or open freezing areas.
For equipment working in cold storage all year long, low-temperature customized batteries are highly recommended. After daily work, park the machine in a windproof and warm area to slow down battery attenuation.

2. Professional Hydraulic System Maintenance
Low temperature increases hydraulic oil viscosity and reduces fluidity. This issue leads to slow lifting speed, stuck movements and abnormal noise. It also accelerates wear on oil seals and pipelines, causing oil leakage.
Replace with cold-resistant hydraulic oil according to local climate to maintain stable hydraulic pressure in winter. Before daily tasks, lift and lower the empty mast 5 to 8 times to preheat the entire hydraulic system.
For the stand-on double pallet stacker, operators need to test both pallet lifting sides to ensure balanced and smooth performance. Regularly inspect rubber seals and oil pipes, and replace brittle aging accessories in time.

3. Body and Circuit System Care
Low temperature easily creates frost and condensation on the machine surface. Moisture will erode wiring interfaces, control panels and wheel assemblies, resulting in poor circuit contact and unresponsive controls.
Remove frost, snow and debris from wheels and body every day to lower driving resistance. Wipe control handles and wiring terminals with dry cloths to avoid short circuits caused by condensed water.
Avoid sharp acceleration, sudden steering and full-load operation during cold start. Operate the device gradually to reduce the load on motors and transmission parts. Cut off the main power and cover the stacker for dustproof and antifreeze protection during long-term idle periods.
In short, scientific anti-freezing maintenance can effectively minimize operating loss and extend the service life of your electric stacker in cold storage environments.
